|WHO WE ARE||HOW WE WORK||OUR STUDIO|
Tiago is a small company dedicated to the creation of fine luxury jewellery. Located in the heart of Sheffield, we provide a highly personalised, bespoke jewellery design and manufacturing service. In contrast to most other designer jewellers, every item created by Tiago is entirely handfinished especially for you by our highly skilled master jeweller in our local studio.
David, our master jeweller, has over 22 years experience working in the jewellery industry. He is highly experienced in repairs, manufacturing, bespoke commissions and diamond mounting, working with platinum, 18 carat gold, fine quality diamonds and other precious gems. On leaving school, David joined Sheffield Forgemasters on a youth apprentice scheme, taking on much metalwork fabrication and engineering/machine skills.
After completing this scheme, David joined McAvoy & Beardsmore, a local well respected jewellers in Sheffield. Here David really started to build his skills and carried out high quality repairs for high street stores across South York’s.
David left McAvoy & Beardsmore after completing 6years of training and moved into manufacturing. He managed the workshop and helped develop the product range for the UK’S leading cufflink and lapidary set jewellery manufacturer. During this time, he began creating bespoke jewellery, including commissions for a former prime minister and sports personalities.
For the past 10 years David has been working for Europe’s largest jewellery wholesaler developing products for the UK’s leading retail jewellers. Developing his diamond mounting and ring making skills and with David’s experience in manufacturing , he was responsible for training a team of highly skilled jewellers dedicated to the development and manufacture of a luxury brand of jewellery.
Undertaking the more sculptural element of jewellery, David was responsible for the more unusual pieces, working on animal carvings, figures, racing cars, and other iconic imagery. This wealth of experience and interpretation of conceptual design in all aspects of jewellery making has given David an excellent understanding that jewellery has to be aesthetically pleasing as well as technically correct.
David's skills incorporate traditional gold and silversmithing, pewter and wax carving as well as the latest Computer aided design and manufacturing techniques.
